Amber Korobkina, Professional Bowen Practitioner
The constant pain of sciatica at the age of 28 eventually became too much for me to handle. Despite several visits to the chiropractor, physiotherapist, massage therapist and acupuncturist, as well as about twenty Advil tablets per day, my pain only worsened. After an MRI and a visit with my family doctor, I was told that my last resort was back surgery, which would give me a 50% chance of curing my condition, and six weeks of bed rest. Nevertheless, I could no longer bear the thought of the pain I experienced from a sneeze or a cough, or the fact that I needed help from my four-year-old daughter to get into an upright position every morning, so I scheduled the surgery.
When a work associate overheard one of my conversations with the hospital, he told me he had experienced a similar problem after an accident on a construction site. When he assured me that Bowen would cure me, I was sure that he had no idea what real pain feels like, and only continued listening to be polite. Even so, I still had some time before my surgery, so I found a Bowen practitioner and gave it a whirl. The practitioner barely touched me, kept on leaving the room and gave me some very simple guidelines that I had to follow to allow the Bowen to work. The only reason I followed his instructions was in hopes of proving him wrong, but after only two visits and a month of healthy living, my pain was gone.
Within a period of about six weeks, my life had completely changed. I could get out of bed on my own, sit down and stand up again, laugh, cough and sneeze with no discomfort, and I felt energized and healthy. It was then that I decided to learn Tom Bowen's technique so that I could make the same difference in someone else's life. It is with pride and excitement that I share this new healing modality with others
"Twelve years of sciatica made me forget what it was like to be healthy and active. My first two Bowen sessions created a gradual improvement, but after the third, it was like night and day! It's amazing to think that such a subtle procedure can provide such a powerful reaction. Now I am pain free and back to playing sports on a regular basis."

"I was unable to put weight on my right foot and was in severe pain from my buttock down my right leg. I felt extremely tense and tight. After my first Bowen session, my body completely relaxed. When I got up, I was virtually pain free and could walk normally! After two years, the problem has not returned."

I read about Let it Heal and the Bowen Therapy treatment from the St. Catharines Standard newspaper. I was in extreme pain in my lower back, radiating down my right leg and knee. It was so bad that I could only walk a few feet and then I would have to sit down where ever that might have been. I was so desperate. Pain meds from my M.D. did nothing for the pain so I decided that I would give Bowen a try as I felt I had nothing to lose. After my first session I really did not feel any relief and after the second session I felt that my pain was not so bad. Then after my third session I felt almost entirely better so when I came back for the fourth time, I exclaimed to Patrick that my pain was totally gone. Sometimes I still can’t believe how fortunate I was to have had such amazing results. Now I’m back to my normal self and enjoying life again pain free! I tell everyone my experiences and recommend it highly.

I heard about Amber's clinic through her husband, who I play soccer with. I had missed some games because of my back and he suggested I try the Bowen treatment. After visiting my doctor, it seemed like my problem was far too advanced for the Bowen technique, so I proceeded to meet with a surgeon. While I waited for surgery, I decided to give it a try and I felt better immediately. My main setback was a cortisone shot, which I had scheduled prior to my Bowen treatment. After that, the pain came back again so I had to return for treatments. Now I am thrilled to say that I feel great and my doctor has cancelled the surgery.
