Adrienne is a Usui Shiki Ryoho and Tibetan Reiki Master and teacher.
What is Reiki ?
Reiki is an ancient healing system that has its roots in Tibetan Buddhist principles. The closest Western translation is : the connection of the soul to a higher consciousness.
Rei: The Soul, and Ki: The Life Force Energy that permeates all matter.
In 1922, a Tendai Buddhist scholar Mikao Usui (1865-1926) spent 21 days performing kushu shinren (discipline and training) on Mt. Kurama in Japan. On his gravestone it states that it was on Mt. Kurama that he became the first person to be enlightened with the principles of Reiki. He later founded The Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai in Tokyo, a healing school where Reiki could be passed on from Master to student.
In 1937, a Hawaiian woman, Hawayo Takata, who had been hospitalized and subsequently healed by Reiki treatments in a Japanese hospital was so amazed by the results that she dedicated herself to becoming a Reiki Master, spending the next 30 years as a Reiki practitioner in Hawaii. It is believed that Hawayo is the link that introduced Reiki to Western culture.
Reiki leaves the client feeling refreshed, relaxed, and happy. Nothing negative can ever come from Reiki as it’s a pure form of energy that can only have positive flow.
Reiki does not interfere with medical procedures, surgery, therapy or medication. It is often recommended for stress, anxiety, headaches (both minor and chronic), asthma, allergies, phobias, pain, disease prevention, ulcers, menopause, and addiction recovery to name but a few.
What does a treatment involve?
The client lies down and finds a comfortable position. The Reiki practitioner places their hands on (or above the client whichever they prefer) in a series of hand positions during the 45-50 minute treatment and the Reiki directs itself to where it is needed. Reiki is not a religion of any kind and personal belief is of no consequence. Reiki knows where to go and what to heal. The practitioner is simply the messenger. If there are specific areas of concern these can certainly be addressed with the practitioner prior to the treatment.
What will I feel during a Reiki treatment ?
It depends on the client. Some choose to discuss their session with the practitioner afterwards, or are content to experience their treatment without ever speaking a word. Some have such a release of energy that they don’t stop talking for 45 minutes. It is entirely up to them. Clients often report heat or soft electrical vibration in the body, while others feel a deep relaxation and can often fall asleep during the treatment. Because Reiki addresses and treats all levels, physical, mental, and emotional, clients can also express emotion during or after the treatments, but again, this all depends on the individual. Most people experience a deep sense of calm, safety, support and relaxation. Since each person has their own unique history and experience, Reiki works to clear any individual blockages and restores and reconnects the body, mind, and spirit to its personal optimal health.
Over the years, Let it Heal has watched the popularity of Reiki increase and heard many interesting personal stories from clients who love Reiki treatments. Although we primarily focus on the mechanical and medical side of things, we decided it's time to expand our horizons. In December of 2017, the time just felt right for adding Reiki to our list of services. It is with great pleasure that we introduce Adrienne Roman, a Reiki master with 20 years of experience. Adrienne offers Reiki treatments and also teaches classes out of our clinic.

Adrienne first encountered the power of Reiki after receiving a healing treatment while visiting a Mayan ruin in northwestern Belize in 1996.
Her experience was so profound that she researched the practice, and ultimately studied to become a first and second degree Usui practitioner under the guidance of a gifted Reiki Master and one the founders of the Canadian Reiki Association.
A practitioner for over twenty years, she is now a Usui Shiki Ryoho and Tibetan Reiki Master and teacher. She views Reiki as a constant stream of evolving knowledge, and has witnessed the many benefits of this bioenergetic modality in helping the mind, body, and soul to heal itself physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
Reiki treats all systems, working to restore optimal personal balance and harmony.
It is unique for each client and no two Reiki treatments are alike.
When she isn’t giving Reiki treatments, Adrienne is a mother and freelance writer, with published works in a number of fields including culture, travel, fashion, holistic living, and arts and entertainment.
Feel free to contact Let It Heal to discuss the benefits of your personal Reiki treatment with Adrienne. She looks forward to meeting you and helping you along your path to greater health.
